Pre and Post Surgery Rehabilitation
Our knowledgeable and highly trained staff is experienced in treating a variety
of post-operative conditions. Our main focus after surgery for physical therapy
is to improve day to day function while protecting the integrity of your surgery.
While understanding the surgical procedure is a crucial aspect in having a successful
outcome with rehabilitation, it is also equally important to determine a patient’s
desired goals for therapy. This allows us to set-up a more customized treatment
program for each individual (i.e. the treatment program on an ACL reconstruction
for a 16 year old soccer player and a 41 year old factory worker are not the same,
nor should they be). At Richardson Spine and Sports Therapy we believe in one on
one care and maintaining the continuity of care for each and every patient. We believe
this allows us to spend more time with our patients to fully understand their needs,
educate them on their condition and expectations of therapy, perform necessary hands-on
treatment to correct particular movement dysfunctions, and correctly demonstrate
performance of therapeutic exercises. By seeing the same therapist throughout your
rehabilitation process, it ensures an appropriate and timely progression of treatment.
What our patients have to say……
“For the past several months Joe has worked diligently
with me on the rehabilitation of my knees. He has developed customized programs
along the way to help the recovery process go smoothly. He was great at listening
to any concerns I had and thoroughly answered questions along the way. He explained
everything he was doing so we were always on the same page working towards the same
goal. Joe, Jason and the entire office staff were wonderful”- J.C.
“The physical
therapist worked well with our son to help with various ‘problems’ with his foot
after surgery. The therapist worked on desensitizing his foot, gait and balance
training. The staff is very friendly and helpful. A great group of people. We would
use them again if needed.”- T.A.
