SHOULDER

Most shoulder problems involve the rotator cuff and bursa. This includes impingement syndrome, tendinosis, bursitis, and partial to full-thickness tearing. The most beneficial conservative treatment for these conditions is exercise.  The therapists at Richardson Spine & Sports Therapy develop comprehensive exercise programs designed specifically for the individual needs of each patient.  On average a good exercise program takes about 12 weeks with a physical therapist, then continued exercise after in clinic treatment has concluded. Research has shown that a graduated exercise program for rotator cuff related shoulder pain can be as effective as surgery.
